Standard Services:

Schematic Design: For this stage of design, we work with you to develop a rough plan for your project based upon your program requirements. Often we will include the contractor in this early stage as the first step in our teaming process in which all members of the project team work together to produce a high quality project.

Design Development: During this stage we work with you to elaborate upon an approved schematic design. Many of the finer features of a project will be determined and documented in a drawing format. Again we commonly seek the inclusion of your contractor and other vital design team members to produce a document, wich is suitable for initial pricing, and allows you to determine if your needs are met.

Construction Documentation: This phase of design brings everything together to produce a set of documents, including drawings and specifications, used to attain planning approval, building permits, to be sent out for bid, and for construction.

Bidding and Pricing: As required by our clients or by a particular project, we are fully capable to assist you through the bidding and pricing processes. All pricing is provided by your contractor. If required due to the expense of a project we will work with you to "value engineer" elements to create a more cost effective design.

Construction Administration: During construction, we coordinate and meet with your contractor as is necessary, to assist their understanding of the project and work out any final details. We will also perform site observations in an effort to become generally familiar with the project as it progresses and to determine in general if the work is proceeding in accordance with the construction documents.

Additional Services:

Programming: We will assist you in identifying and prioritizing your construction needs. We begin by defining what type of spaces you require and work toward developing the necessary relationships between those spaces. The final product is a document detailing your construction program requirements, which can guide you as you continue to design your project.

Interior Design: We maintain a complete interior design department to assist you in finishing and furnishing your project.

Furnishings: Ralston Architects has relationships with a wide range of furniture and fabric companies, both commercial and residential, which allows us to help our clients find the perfect items for their project. We can show you packages that will complete your space, give you pricing, and arrange for showroom visits for those unique and hard to find pieces.

Cabinetry and Fixture Design: We have the knowledge required to design any cabinetry, fixtures, and furnishings you require, from a reception desk or dining room table to an entire retail fixture system.
