Redtail Golf Facilities
Beaverton, OR
'A total golf experience' was the
driving force behind the design and construction of this golf center.
The owner wanted a world-class facility, which would attend to every need
a golfer might have, to accompany the recent expansion and redevelopment
of the 18-hole championship course. The golf course was supplemented by
a two-story driving range, which will accommodate 78 golfers in covered
stalls, a putting course which opens in the fall of 2003, and a separate
area for private lessons. An extensive pro shop was located on site, and
the new clubhouse offers the space and amenities to complete a day at
RedTail. The $3 million facility also includes a cart barn, a separate
concessions building and offices for the golf course staff. The 28,000
sq. ft. building was designed to fit into the suburban neighborhood surrounding
it and is clad with board and batt siding, concrete masonry accents and
a metal roof. Finishes for the Golf Facility were meant to bring the outdoors
in through the use of color and textures that reflect the local surroundings.
Green, red and gold tones with cut stone tiles contribute to the natural
atmosphere of the interior. Durability of fabrics and textures, as well
as the comfort level of furniture and spatial layout were also key elements
of the design.
